The Waukee Area Arts Council is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life through the fine arts in the western suburbs of Des Moines and the surrounding area.
Core Value Statements
We pledge uncompromising adherence to the highest quality of professional artists, educational programming and artistic presentations.
Creative learning and entertainment opportunities in schools and public venues will foster artistic expression, thereby broadening community knowledge of the arts.
Artistic opportunities will embrace diversity to serve the needs of the community.
We welcome a variety of forms of artistic expression and provide opportunities for those voices to be heard. Artists and arts organizations will be treated as professional and respected through support and compensation.
Arts programming and presentations will touch and enrich individual lives in a multitude of ways including volunteerism, philanthropy, creativity, self-expression and appreciation.
Enhance the quality of life by respecting the arts as a valuable asset in our community, an asset that has an impact on the economic, social, philanthropic and personal aspects of everyday life.
The Waukee Area Arts Council (The Arts Council) was formed in 2004 to fill a void in the community in the area of the arts. There is no other organization that has similar goals or mission. We are a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization.
