Welcome to the 2017 Waukee Arts Festival Artists Information
The Waukee Area Arts Council presents Waukee Arts Festival Saturday, July 8, 2017, 11 - 5 pm
The Waukee Area Arts Council is pleased to present the 3rd Annual Waukee Arts Festival on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 11 until 5 pm in Centennial Park in conjunction with our July concert series at 6:30. The event will consist of local artists, food & beverage vendors, a beer garden and music performers throughout the day. The concert will cap the days’ entertainment from 6:30-8 pm.
Last year drew over 3,000 attendees! We had 55 artists’ booths, 6 food vendors, and 10 musicians during the afternoon. We closed the evening off with a concert with the Maytags! This year we are planning for 75 or more artists, 4 food vendors, and 10 music acts throughout the day. All artist booths will be displayed along the roadside for easier access. We have moved our event from Sunday to Saturday due to the overwhelming growth. This year we are also adding a beer garden. The day’s events will be capped off with a concert in the park that evening.
The event will be supported with promotional television appearances, social media campaigns, on published event calendars, print media advertising, and local business promotional events.
Information for Artists: The festival will be open to the general public & free of charge to attend. The artist and/or a representative for the artist is expected to be present at the booth during all event hours.
The Waukee Area Arts Council promotes local artists and provides a venue to display their work and interact with the public. All artists will be screened before their application is accepted. We are looking for a variety of mediums, high quality, and handmade works of art. As such, we are not accepting applications from people selling commercially made products. If you are unsure if your items qualify, please email info@WaukeeArts.org.
Artists are expected to bring their own tent/tables/display items for their space. The standard space will be a 10 x 10 ft. space and may be on grass. There is no electrical available. Please make sure all art is properly secured in case of inclement weather conditions.
Student Artists are invited to participate in this year’s Waukee Arts Festival. High School and College Students are invited to submit work and will be permitted to have space to show and sell their work. There will be a special booth fee of $35 for Student Artists.
How to Apply: Please complete the following application form in its entirety, 3-5 pictures and a brief description of your work and display, along with the application and waiver statement. All applications must contain your full name, an address, a phone number and an e-mail, which can be used for contact.
All applications must be received no later than June 17, 2017. Payment will be due as soon as the application is accepted and needed to hold the spot. Payments can be submitted through our website on the Store tab.
