Classes and Education

The Arts Council will provide education in the arts through classes, seminars, master classes and workshops utilizing local teachers, professional performers and visiting artists. Classes for all ages are offered in a variety of subjects!

Past Class Offerings have included…

GARDEN STEPPING-STONES FAMILY WORKSHOP to design and make a decorative stepping-stone to complement your garden.

BEGINNING POTTERY Express yourself creatively by learning to ‘throw’ on the potter’s wheel, then glaze and fire your own creations.

DRAWING FOR THE ‘NON-ARTIST’ If you feel you “can’t draw” or have no artistic ability, then this class is for you! Come and surprise yourself as you complete a realistic drawing of choice.

ANIMALS THROUGH THE ARTS This course uses mixed media and focuses on animals as inspiration for making art. Students will sculpt, draw, and paint works of art inspired by animals of their interest.

PAPER MARBLING AND CALLIGRAPHY Marble your paper and learn simple calligraphy to create a beautiful piece of art suitable for framing.

MAKING AFRICAN TRADE BEADS AND JEWELRY Learn to make colorful beads out of clay, and then create your own jewelry pieces out of your bead creations.
