We start at the beautiful Lauritzen Gardens, then off to the wonderful art collections at the Joslyn Art Museum and lunch. After enjoying the Pioneer Courage and Spirit of Nebraska’s Wilderness Sculpture Park we are in for a treat - a tour of Sculptor Jun Kaneko’s 
Private Art Studio (not open to the general public). The day concludes with 
dinner and back to Waukee.

Cost includes all transportation, admissions, lunch and dinner! $80 per person. The bus will depart from ArtsCentral, 405 Maple Street, Waukee. Brochures can be downloaded here, picked up at the Waukee Hardware or call for one to be mailed directly.

K-4: Make Fandango Puppets as seen in the movie theater

K-4: Using oil Pastels, Draw flowers in the style of Vincent Van Gogh

Friday: Vincent Van Gogh
5-8: With oil pastels, re-create the texture of Van Gogh's "Starry night" in a unique landscape or cityscape.

Class Size: 5 -15 students each time session
Cost: $50 for the week (materials included)

Songwriting 101

Saturday, June 16th
9:00-11:00 am
Professional singer and songwriter Bill Melton will take you through the basics of songwriting. Learn the tools, song structure and storytelling techniques in this workshop. The basics are the same for any style of music. If you have a song bring it along!

SWING Dance Classes

9:30 - 11:30 am
Learn the Shim Sham! As every dance has at least one very famous Line dance, Swing has the Shim Sham. It was danced frequently in the 30s & 40s and is still danced by all over the world today. Learn it from start to finish and add a few versatile dance steps to your dance vocabulary! Kids and whole families welcome.
Class Size: 6 - 16 each session

East Coast Swing
Saturday, June 23rd
1:00 - 3:00 pm
Learn East Coast Swing dance! 
(partner dance/partner not required to participate). East Coast swing is a 6-count dance that can be intertwined with all types of dances, and it's the beginning of learning the fundamentals of swing. In this class you will learn a basic step, and inside turn, outside turn, and Texas Tommy! Ages 16 and older are welcome to participate!
Class Size: 6 - 16 each session

Theatre for the Family

During this Saturday morning, children and family members will learn about the theatre through games, performance, and other theatre activities. Students from the week will take the lead and serve as tour guides through the world of theatre but everyone is welcome.

Drama Camp - July 9-13
 
Creative Drama

Come and explore the world of theatre through creative drama play.  Students will read a different book each day, and will then create and perform an original play.  
Grades: PreK-2nd grades
Time: 9-11 a.m.
Class Size: 5-15

The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales

Have you ever wondered if the fairy tales we were told as children were possibly incorrect?  What if these stories were told from a different point of view?  During this week long class, students will take Jon Scieszka's The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, and will create an original play to be performed at the end of the week.
Grades: 3rd-7th grades
Time: 1-4  p.m.
Class Size: 5-15
Cost: $95

Teen Acting Studio

During this week long class, teen students will have the opportunity to explore theatre performance, through monologue and scene work in a teen theatre acting studio.
