Letter from the President

We have had an exciting year and sometimes we forget to keep our supporters up to date with what is happening. So some of this may be a review and some of this may be an ah-ha moment - so that is what they are doing!

This is our 6th year of programming and we are an all-volunteer organization run by a 10-member board of directors. We are a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization.

We began renting the old St. Boniface Catholic Church space at 405 Maple Street, Waukee last summer. It is a beautiful space and very versatile. We called it ArtsCentral because we would like it to become the center for the arts in Waukee.

This is a big undertaking for our organization. But we felt that we could not only help preserve this historic space but put it in service to the community by offering a wider variety of programming. So in November we started a series of a variety of performers. To date we have hosted Willie Shay, Craig Irvin,
Ortonville Circus and John Burns. We have two more events this spring Michael Hope and The Beggarmen -see details below!

We have a three-year plan to see if we can build an audience for ArtsCentral and build support for the Waukee Area Arts Council. We of course need your assistance to help spread the word that there are great things going on at ArtsCentral.

Grab your friends and family and bring them to ArtsCentral. We always welcome your support and input so feel free to call with any comments you may have!

Thank you, Cindy DePond
