Saturday, June 2, 2012 Registration Deadline extended to Friday, May 18! Lauritzen Gardens Josyln Art Museum Pioneer Courage and Spirit of Nebraska’s Wilderness Sculpture Park Tour of Jun Kaneko’s Private Studio We start at the beautiful Lauritzen Gardens, then off to the wonderful art collections at the Joslyn Art Museum and lunch. After enjoying the Pioneer Courage and Spirit of Nebraska’s Wilderness Sculpture Park we are in for a treat - a tour of Sculptor Jun Kaneko’s Private Art Studio (not open to the general public). The day concludes with dinner and back to Waukee. Cost includes all transportation, admissions, lunch and dinner! $80 per person. The bus will depart from ArtsCentral, 405 Maple Street, Waukee. Monday - Friday, June 4 - 8, 2012 Learn about a different artist each day and discover a variety of art techniques! Kindergarten to 4th Grade 9:00 to 10:00 AM or 12:30 to 1:30 PM Monday: Pablo Picasso K-4: Collage of "The Three Musicians" Tuesday: Wassily Kandinsky K-4: Painting in the style of Kandinsky, infusing color and lines together Wednesday: Jackson Pollock K-4: Splatter-style painting in the style of Jackson Pollock (make 2) Thursday: Modern Popular Culture K-4: Make Fandango Puppets as seen in the movie theater Friday: Vincent Van Gogh K-4: Using oil Pastels, Draw flowers in the style of Vincent Van Gogh 5th Grade to 8th Grade 10:30 to 11:30 AM or 2:00 to 3:00 PM Monday: Pablo Picasso 5-8: Collage of geometric Shapes to make a face in the style of Picasso Tuesday: Wassily Kandinsky 5-8: Painting in the style of Kandinsky, infusing color and lines together Wednesday: Jackson Pollock 5-8: Splatter-style painting in the style of Jackson Pollock (make 2) Thursday: Modern Popular Culture 5-8: Papier-Mâché Angry Birds Friday: Vincent Van Gogh 5-8: With oil pastels, re-create the texture of Van Gogh's "Starry night" in a unique landscape or cityscape. A free concert will be presented every Tuesday in June at Triangle Park in Downtown Waukee 6th and Ashworth Drive. The performances begin at 7:00 pm and last approximately two hours. | Drama Camp - July 9-13 | ||

Come and explore the world of theatre through creative drama play. Students will read a different book each day, and will then create and perform an original play. Grades: PreK-2nd grades Class Size: 5-15 Cost: $85 Instructor: Allison Krois, Certified Teacher Have you ever wondered if the fairy tales we were told as children were possibly incorrect? What if these stories were told from a different point of view? During this week long class, students will take Jon Scieszka's The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, and will create an original play to be performed at the end of the week. Time: 1-4 p.m. Class Size: 5-15 Cost: $95 Instructor: Allison Krois, Certified Teacher During this week long class, teen students will have the opportunity to explore theatre performance, through monologue and scene work in a teen theatre acting studio. Grades: 8th-12th grades Time: 5-8 pm Class Size: 5-15 Cost: $95 Instructor: Allison Krois, Certified Teacher Saturday Workshop July 14 During this Saturday morning, children and family members will learn about the theatre through games, performance, and other theatre activities.
