Reach and Involve the surrounding communities.
The council was created in 2004 by a group of individuals with a passion for the Fine Arts in Waukee, IA. The council originally provided performance and music-based programming to enrich the youth and adults in the area. As momentum grew for the council, the “Area” in the title was added to include all communities in the Metro area and surrounding Waukee.
The Board of Directors is composed of 7 unique individuals that represent several generations, art preferences, and offer a vast array of skills and talents to the organization. Some members are residents within the city of Waukee, others live outside in nearby communities, or they work in Waukee. Some board members are artists themselves, others are connoisseurs of art. While the Board is responsible for making decisions, they take input and suggestions from artists, vendors, and attendees to incorporate local community feedback.
